King & Wood Mallesons SJ Berwin advised Capzanine on the acquisition of a majority stake in Opteven alongside the management. Founded in 2004, Capzanine is an independent investment fund specialising in equity and mezzanine financing for companies and their growth projects.
Previously part of the RAC group (formerly the British Royal Automobile Club), Opteven is a leading player in the Assistance and Mechanical Breakdown Warranties market in France and in Europe. Based in Villeurbanne, the group employs more than 220 people and in 2013 its turnover was nearly €100 million.
Since 2010 Opteven has been controlled by majority stakeholder Finadvance, alongside the Managers and the Aviva Insurance group.
