Linklaters advised General Logistics Systems Germany GmbH & Co. OHG (GLS Germany) on the sale of DPD Systemlogistik GmbH & Co. KG (DPD SL) to DPD GeoPost (Deutschland) GmbH. DPD SL is a franchisee in the DPD System. The purchase agreement has already been signed. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The execution of the transaction is still subject to clearance by the Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt – BKartA).
GLS Germany is a subsidiary of General Logistics Systems B.V. (GLS), headquartered in Amster-dam. GLS provides parcel services to over 220,000 customers in Europe, and in addition offers express and logistics services. The Group covers 37 European states through wholly owned companies and partners, and is globally connected through contractual agreements. GLS employs approximately 14,000 people. In the 2013/2014 financial year, GLS handled 404 million parcels and generated revenues of 1.96 billion euros.
