Dentons advised MEININGER Holding GmbH on the development and long-term lease of a hotel in Munich with 173 rooms and a gross floor area of 12.000 sqm, including underground parking. The project is based on a Partnership Agreement concluded by MEIININGER and Fonciére des Murs in 2014 with the goal of financing the expansion of MEININGER and of implementing common investments in European Gateway cities.

The Munich hotel, located on Landshuter Allee and close to the Olympic Park, is the first joint hotel project in the framework of this partnership. Fonciére des Murs will invest a total of approximately €29,5 million to acquire the building from alstria office REIT-AG and to develop the existing building for hotel use. ZÜBLIN will be responsible for the construction works for the redevelopment.

The new hotel - the second MEININGER Hotel in Munich - is scheduled to open in 2017.

The Dentons team was led by Counsel Jan Hellner, who advised MEININGER on the lease. He was assisted by Counsels Sebastian Schmid and Boris Strauch. MEININGER continues the cooperation with Dentons regarding the development of new hotel locations. For some time now, MEININGER trusts Dentons in its advice on the most different matters – among others on the conclusion of the Partnership Agreement that is the basis for this deal.
