Revolution Growth, Mark Cuban and Michael Jordan agree to invest in Sportradar

29 Oct 2015

On October 27, 2015, Revolution Growth, the venture capital firm co-founded by Steve Case, Ted Leonsis and Donn Davis, together with US billionaire Mark Cuban and businessman and basketball legend Michael Jordan, announced that it will make an investment in the Swiss-based Sportradar group. The Sportradar group is a leading global provider of sports data and information. By way of this transaction, the Sportradar group wishes, together with a strong US partner, to continue the expansion of its business in the USA. Closing of the transaction is expected for the end of October 2015.

As a result of the transaction, Ted Leonsis (who also owns three professional sports teams in Washington, DC) and Evan Morgan, a partner in Revolution Growth, will join Sportradar's newly formed US advisory board, along with Michael Jordan and Mark Cuban.

Revolution Growth was advised as to this investment by Homburger AG in Zurich and Latham & Watkins LLP in Washington, DC. The Homburger team comprised partner Daniel Daeniker, associate Valentin Jentsch and junior associate Stefan Luginbühl (all Corporate | M&A).
