Orrick advised Sevenhugs, creator of connected home products aimed at simplifying the smart home experience, on its $14.6 million Series A financing round. Led by investment firm Xerys Gestion, the funds will be used to focus significantly on building the Sevenhugs team and investing in product development, including accelerating the development of the soon-to-launch intelligent Smart Remote.

Launched in France in 2014, Sevenhugs participated in ubi i/o, a highly selective acceleration program in the U.S. for promising French tech companies. Prior to its Series A, the company raised $1.75 million in March 2015.

The Orrick Paris-based team advising Sevenhugs was led by partner Benjamin Cichostepski and included managing associate Agnieszka Opalach and summer associate Charles Bourquin.
