Sidley is representing Foxconn Technology Group on its investment in Hike Messenger, India’s only home-grown messaging platform and the country’s largest Internet company by users. Foxconn Technology Group and Tencent Holdings Limited are leading a new Series D financing round of over US$175 million, valuing Hike Messenger at close to US$1.4 billion. Existing investors, including Tiger Global Management and SoftBank Group, are also participating in this round. This high-profile transaction, which has generated international media coverage, is subject to customary closing conditions.

Foxconn Technology Group is a multinational electronics manufacturing conglomerate headquartered in Taiwan and is one of the world’s largest electronics manufacturers.

The Sidley team was led by foreign legal consultant Vivek Baid and included associate Rui Zhang, both from the Hong Kong office.
