Hogan Lovells has advised Lombard North Central Plc (“Lombard”), the largest asset finance provider in the UK on a $100 million term loan facility for Waypoint Leasing (“Waypoint”). Waypoint is the largest independent global helicopter leasing company that includes more than 125 aircraft operating in 26 countries, with total assets in excess of $1.5 billion.
The Hogan Lovells team was led by partner Alexander Premont, Banking, Paris and London and Gordon Wilson, Banking, Washington, D.C. with support from associates Stephanie Saunders and Zara Asif in London and Michelle Bleda and Brooke Shekhar in Washington, D.C.
Waypoint will use the funds provided by this transaction to refinance certain aircraft originally financed under its revolving credit facility, further expanding capacity to support its customers and the expansion of its business. The loan facility has a maturity of approximately six years and can be drawn in dollars, euros and sterling.
Alexander Premont commented:
"Helicopter leasing companies continue to raise debt, showing that the market remains strong. This transaction showcases Hogan Lovells' expertise in asset finance and our active helicopter practice across Europe and the US, working with some of the leading financiers, lessors and operators in the market. We are delighted to have worked with Lombard and Waypoint on this facility."
