The Robert Breuning Foundation has sold its stake in Besigheim-based KOMET Group to CERATIZIT S.A. The transaction was completed today, after the purchase agreement was signed on 12 October 2017 and the authorities in Germany and Austria granted competition law approval.
A CMS team headed by Dr Thomas Meyding advised the Robert Breuning Foundation on all legal aspects of the transaction.
Operating out of its site in Besigheim, the KOMET Group has become one of the world’s best-known brands in the machining industry. The KOMET Group is among the leading single-source suppliers of precision tools and can look back on almost 100 years as an innovator in the sector. The KOMET Group has more than 1,500 employees across 22 subsidiaries. Sales in 2015 totalled around EUR 174 million.
Headquartered in Mamer, Luxembourg, CERATIZIT S.A. is a leading provider of hard material solutions for cutting and wear protection. Its acquisition of the KOMET Group will position CERATIZIT S.A. as a top five global player in the international cutting tools market.
