International law firm CMS has advised Battersea Power Station Development Company (BPSDC) on its pre-let agreement with IWG, the world’s largest serviced office group, to lease 40,000 sq ft of office space to luxury private members club, No18. The deal marks the final pre-let of office space for Battersea Power Station, which will also be home to tech giant Apple when it opens in 2021.
Battersea Power Station is the flagship site of the Nine Elms regeneration and is one of London’s most visionary and eagerly anticipated new developments. The 42-acre site has approximately 1m sq ft of space allocated for offices, shops and restaurants, with 52% now successfully let as office space.
No18 will create a bespoke offering for the Power Station called The Engine Room. Set over two floors overlooking the light-filled southern atrium, it will look down into the two turbine halls that will house over 100 shops and restaurants for occupiers to enjoy.
Andrew Hilston, Development Director and Head of Office Leasing at BPSDC, comments: “CMS were an integral part of the deal team who had a can do attitude at all times of the day or night enabling things to move fast and sensibly.”
The CMS core team was led by Real Estate Partner Caroline Maude, with support from Senior Associates Sarah Cooke (Real Estate) and Lauren Alder (Tax), and Associate Jolyon Bond (Construction).
