A cross practice team of Hogan Lovells Real Estate and Energy lawyers has acted for The Crown Estate on the lease completion of Triton Knoll, the circa 860MW offshore wind farm, which is being developed by Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm Limited off the Lincolnshire coast.
Hogan Lovells advised The Crown Estate on the grant of the lease to Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm Limited and the associated lease security package paving the way for an offshore wind development project with a planned investment of approximately £2 billion which will install 90 of the largest turbines to date.
The Hogan Lovells team was led by partners Nick Roberts (Real Estate) and Alex Harrison (Energy) and Senior Associate, Mohammed Alam.
Commenting, Hogan Lovells partner, Nick Roberts, said: "The completion of the Triton Knoll windfarm lease is a major transaction on the world stage for offshore wind. Once construction is complete, the wind farm will be capable of providing renewable electricity for at least 800,000 UK homes.”
"With the ever increasing focus on energy from renewable sources it is fantastic to continue our work for The Crown Estate in the management of the rights and interests it grants for the delivery of offshore renewable energy.”
"Transactions such as this hit two sweet spots for Hogan Lovells - we are able to deploy our market leading Real Estate and Energy practices as a single cross-discipline team working with a truly unique client."
