Orrick Advises Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank in Financing of FTTH Network Acquisition by CityFast

19 Dec 2018

Orrick advised Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank in the financing of CityFast’s acquisition of a Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network, built by Bouygues Telecom and located in highly populated areas of France. CityFast is a special purpose vehicle founded by Axione and Mirova.

Bouygues Telecom will sell its existing fiber optic infrastructure to CityFast and coordinate the design and the deployment of CityFast's FTTH network, while CityFast will grant Bouygues Telecom access to its fiber optic network for 30 years. Axione will handle, on behalf of CityFast, the operation, maintenance and commercialization of the network. CityFast’s new infrastructure will be open to other fiber optic operators.

With this transaction, Bouygues Telecom will complete its FTTH coverage and will have access to all highly populated areas in France by the end of 2021. This project will bring the total number of optical sockets operated and marketed by Axione in France to six million.

The Orrick team included Amaury de Feydeau, Jean-Luc Champy, Paul Loisel, Tsveta Pencheva and Ahmed Boulahcen.
