White & Case Advises EPH on Agreement to Acquire 66 Percent Stake in Slovenske Elektrarne for €750 Million

White & Case LLP has advised Energeticky a prumyslovy holding (EPH) on the agreement by its subsidiary, EP Slovakia BV, to acquire the 66 percent stake in Slovenské elektrárne, a.s. owned by Enel Produzione S.p.A., a subsidiary of Italy-based multinational power company Enel S.p.A.

DLA Piper advises First Solar in its investment in Younicos

DLA Piper has advised First Solar, Inc., an international supplier of photovoltaic system solutions, on its investment in Younicos AG, a leading supplier of grid and energy storage solutions.

This deal forms part of the 50 million USD growth capital financing that comes from a consortium of First Solar, Inc., Grupo ECOS, a private equity firm specialising in sustainable investments, and an undisclosed strategic lead investor. The aim of this financing round is to enable the company to further scale its development of intelligent energy storage solutions.

King & Wood Mallesons advised CNOOC on its Nanhai petrochemical complex expansion jointly with Shell`

15 December 2015, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) signed an agreement with Royal Dutch Shell Group (Shell) to expand the capacity of the joint venture located in Huizhou City, Guangdong Province. According to the agreement, additional petrochemical production facilities will be built adjacent to the existing petrochemical complex and Shell will be involved in the construction process. CNOOC has already undertaken the construction of the petrochemical production facilities.

WLG's Energy team advises Primrose Solar on three further UK solar farm acquisitions

Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co's Energy team, led by partner Gareth Baker, has advised longstanding client Primrose Solar on the acquisition of three 5MW solar farms, one at Bedborough Farm, Wimborne, one in Merston, Chichester, and the third near Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

The Bedborough acquisition was finalised in June 2015, with Primrose acquiring the site from Wiltshire-based developer Solstice Renewables.

A cross-border KWM team has acted as PRC and Australian advisers to China’s State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) on its acquisition of Pacific Hydro, IFM’s renewable energy portfolio.  This is one of the largest ever acquisitions by a Chinese bidder in Australia and signals the ongoing appetite from Chinese investors for Australian assets.

Houston advises Tesoro in acquisition of Great Northern Midstream

The Houston office is representing Tesoro Corporation in the acquisition of Great Northern Midstream LLC, a crude oil logistics provider owning and operating recently constructed crude oil pipeline, gathering system, transportation, storage and rail loading facilities in North Dakota's Williston Basin. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2016. The transaction value was not disclosed.

Osborne Clarke has advised CHORUS Clean Energy AG on the purchase of the wind farm “Appeln”. The CHORUS Group operates solar and wind farms in five European countries. The company, based in Munich, has solar and wind farms with a combined output of 265 megawatts. CHORUS also provides investment opportunities for systems that generate renewable energy.

Clifford Chance has advised China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited (CEEC) on its US$1.8 billion IPO. CEEC is one of the largest comprehensive solutions providers for the power industry in China and globally.
