McCann FitzGerald Advises Sherry FitzGerald Group on the Agreement to Sell the Remaining 80% Stake in its Commercial Property Arm to Cushman & Wakefield

The deal, which is expected to complete in September, gives Cushman & Wakefield 100 per cent ownership of the commercial business here as well as a minority share in Sherry FitzGerald’s affiliate commercial property businesses in Cork and Belfast.  The deal facilitates Sherry FitzGerald Group in focusing on developing its core business.

Ashurst advises Invesco on acquisition of 40 and 50 Eastbourne Terrace

International law firm Ashurst has advised Invesco Real Estate on the £110 million acquisition of 40 and 50 Eastbourne Terrace, Paddington from Hermes Real Estate Investment Managers.

40 Eastbourne Terrace is an 85,000 sq. ft. office building which is occupied until 2021, while 50 Eastbourne Terrace has planning consent for a new 90,000 sq. ft. office and retail scheme with a terrace of seven mews townhouses. The two buildings sit directly opposite Paddington station, which will welcome the Elizabeth Line from the end of the year.

Casablanca—Dentons Morocco has advised Groupe Palmeraie Développement on a joint venture between Palmeraie Développement Côte d’Ivoire and Mairie du Plateau d’Abidjan to create Hôtel Abidjan Plateau. The team has also advised Groupe Palmeraie Développement on the management agreement with Radisson Hotel Group, a leader in the business hotel sector.

Baker McKenzie advised India based HIL Limited on the acquisition of the Parador Holding GmbH from NORD HOLDING COMPANY COMPANY MbH and DEUTSCHE MITTELSTANDSHOLDING FÜR INDUSTRIEBETEILIGUNGEN GmbH & Co. KG.

The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approval and is expected to close in August.

Baker McKenzie advised HIL Limited on all legal aspects of the transaction.

King & Spalding Wins Court of Appeal Case for LAIP

King & Spalding has successfully struck out of a multi-million dollar claim brought by Catalyst Managerial Services (CMS) against our client, Libya Africa Investment Portfolio (LAIP), in the English Court of Appeal.

CMS first brought its claim against LAIP in 2012 for US$15 million in alleged unpaid invoices and in excess of US$500 million in estimated damages for alleged wrongful termination of a management consultancy agreement entered into under the Gaddafi regime.

Linklaters advises Globalworth on the acquisition of the Spektrum Tower office building from Europa Capital for EU101m

Linklaters has advised Globalworth on the acquisition of the Spektrum Tower office building in Warsaw. The structure, a notable feature of downtown Warsaw, holds a total leasing area of about 29,500 sqm and is almost 90% leased.

Following this transaction, the total value of Globalworth's portfolio will exceeded EU1b and reach nearly 375,000 sqm.

The legal team advising on the acquisition was led by Warsaw real estate partner Janusz Dzianachowski, supported by associates Adriana Andrzejewska, Bartosz Guzinski and Monika Lerka.
