Ashurst advises UniCredit and Banco Santander on the financing of Nuova Energia

Ashurst advised UniCredit S.p.A. and Banco Santander S.A. Milan in relation to a €65.2 million project financing to Nuova Energia S.r.l., which owns a 72 MW wind farm in the municipalities of Gravina and Poggiorsini, in the Puglia region (Italy).

The sponsors of the transaction are Fri-El Green Power SpA and Golden Agri Resources. It is one of the few wind project financings closed in Italy in the last 12 months and one of the first project financings benefitting from a feed-in tariff, instead of green certificates.

Clifford Chance advises on the financing of Peru's first nationwide fiber optic infrastructure project

Leading global law firm Clifford Chance has advised BESI – Grupo Novo Banco and Credit Suisse, as arrangers and placement agents, on a $273.7 million financing for the Red Dorsal Nacional de Fibra Optica project. The nationwide fiber optic network will span approximately 13,400 km in Peru and is the first ever to be developed in the country.

WFW advises DNB on export credit-supported US$475m loan to Ocean Rig

DNB Bank ASA (Oslo) (“DNB”), as agent and security agent on behalf of a syndicate of lenders, instructed Watson Farley & Williams (‘WFW’) on a US$475 million secured loan to the Ocean Rig Group for the financing of the ultra-deepwater drillship ''Ocean Rig Apollo''. The drillship was constructed at Samsung Heavy Industries in Korea and delivered on 5 March 2015. The drillship is on contract with Total E&P Congo. This follows an earlier US$1.35 billion export credit-supported loan also arranged by DNB for the Ocean Rig Group and documented by WFW.

Dentons advises on expansion of Sur desalination project

United Arab Emirates—Dentons has advised the Sharqiyah Desalination Company SAOG (SDC) on the expansion and refinancing of the Sur desalination project in Oman.  Dentons acted as both international and Omani law counsel. The project cost will be approximately US$200 million and will add an additional 10.6 million imperial gallons per day capacity to the existing plant. The project is a unique world-class solution for Sharqiyah region, which is growing in economic importance and population.
 

Nordea Bank Finland Plc and Pohjola Bank plc: Financing of the Tornio LNG Terminal Project

Castrén & Snellman advised Nordea Bank Finland Plc and Pohjola Bank plc in the project financing for an LNG terminal to be constructed and operated in Tornio by the Manga group of companies. The Manga group is backed by a consortium consisting of Outokumpu Oyj, SSAB Europe Oy, Skangass Oy and EPV Energia Oy. The start-up of operations of the newly built facility and the LNG and natural gas logistics chain is planned for early 2018.

Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Norddeutsche Landesbank (Nord LB), on debt funding provided to Renewable Energy Systems Limited (RES) for the refinancing of the construction and development of Jacks Lane and Woolley Hill Wind Farms in the UK.

Jack Lane Wind Farm is a 15MW, 6 turbine wind farm, located near King’s Lynn, Norfolk in England and Woolley Hill Wind Farm is a 10MW 4 turbine wind farm located in Ellington, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire in England. The wind farms will generate electricity equivalent to the needs of around 18,000 homes.
