Japanese Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing Co.,  Ltd. acquires a controlling shareholding in DMG MORI Finance GmbH, a German leasing company

Cologne–Luther advised the Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing Co., Ltd.(SMFL) in relation to the acquisition of 35.2% of the shares in DMG MORI Finance GmbH. Seller is DMG MORI CO., Ltd.,which retains a minority stake in the company.

Gide, counsel to Mecadaq on the investment of Activa Capital in its capital

Gide has advised Mecadaq on the investment of Activa Capital in its capital via an owner-buyout operation.

Mecadaq specialises in the production and assembly of precision mechanical parts for the aerospace industry, more specifically the door components for major global aircraft manufacturers. The company has a hundred professionals working on three sites: two sites in the south west of France (Tarnos and Pessac) and one site in the United States (California).

IFU raises DKK 700m in the first closing of the Danish Agribusiness Fund I K/S

The Investment Fund for Developing Countries (IFU), the leading provider of advisory services and risk capital to Danish companies wishing to set up operations in developing countries, announced the raising of DKK 700m in the first closing of the Danish Agribusiness Fund I K/S. The Danish government and IFU contribute in collaboration with the two pension funds PensionDanmark and PKA to the new partnership.

WFW advises leading European electricity generator on £237m UK wind farm

Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised long-standing client Vattenfall, one of Europe’s leading electricity generators, on its disposal of a 49% stake in the 150 MW Ormonde offshore wind farm in England to Swedish pension group AMF for £237 million (circa SEK 3 billion). Vattenfall will continue to operate the wind farm as majority shareholder in partnership with AMF.

Ormonde, located off Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria, has been fully operational since 2012 and receives Renewable Obligation Certificate (ROC) subsidies.

Osborne Clarke advises on a Series A financing round of heartbeat

Osborne Clarke has advised HRTBT Medical Solutions GmbH on the closing of its Series A financing round. Founded in 2014, the start-up has developed the software solution heartbeat ONE, a digital information system supporting doctors and patients. The system ensures quality assurance in patient administration, measurement and evaluation of treatments.

The investment is a high six figures sum and comes from High-Tech Gründerfonds and DocCheck Guano AG. The fresh capital will mainly be used to develop efficient distribution structures as well as extending the team.

Shoosmiths Manchester completes first deal for NorthEdge Capital

The corporate team from the Manchester office of national law-firm, Shoosmiths has advised private equity firm, NorthEdge Capital (NorthEdge), on its investment into TKC, a Greater Manchester-based kitchen trade supplier.

The investment was used to back a management buyout of TKC and to secure a majority stake in the £19m-turnover business for NorthEdge.
