DLA Piper advises Mobile Ventures on investment in 24Insights GmbH

DLA Piper has advised Mobile Ventures GmbH on a financing transaction for 24Insights GmbH. Mobile Ventures thus holds 4.35% of the share capital in 24Insights GmbH. During this A round of financing, 24Insights GmbH has raised a seven-figure sum. Co-investors are Intermedia Vermögensverwaltungs GmbH, which belongs to Medien Union GmbH, High-Tech Gründerfonds and Metropol Incubator GmbH.

White & Case Advises IFC and Other Consortium Members on Investment in Nigeria's Leading Healthcare Provider

White & Case LLP has advised International Finance Corporation (IFC), together with other consortium members IFHA-II Cooperatief U.A. (IFHA-II), Swiss Re and CIEL Healthcare Africa Limited (CHL), on an investment in Hygeia Nigeria Limited, Nigeria's leading private healthcare company.

Hygeia Nigeria currently operates a network of hospitals and clinics under the Lagoon Hospitals brand, in addition to a health management organization, Hygeia HMO.

Coller Capital Raises $7.15 billion for Coller International Partners VII

Simpson Thacher represented Coller Capital in connection with the formation and raising of its seventh secondaries fund, Coller International Partners VII. The fund, which held its final closing on December 31, 2015, was oversubscribed and reached its hard cap in around six months from its initial closing.

The fund will pursue Coller Capital’s flexible approach to secondary investing, targeting secondary assets and sellers located anywhere in the world, and making individual investments ranging in size from $1 million to $1 billion plus.

Davis Polk Advises China Cinda on a Strategic Investment by Sino Biopharmaceutical

Davis Polk is advising China Cinda Asset Management Co., Ltd. (“China Cinda”) in connection with a proposed strategic investment by Sino Biopharmaceutical Limited. Pursuant to terms of the investment, China Cinda has conditionally agreed to issue H shares to Sino Biopharmaceutical for an aggregate consideration of approximately RMB4.92 billion. The investment, which is subject to a number of conditions precedent, will give Sino Biopharmaceutical approximately 4.999% interest in the total share capital of China Cinda.

Hogan Lovells Represents Kingdom Holding Company in Lyft Investment

Hogan Lovells represented HRH Prince Alwaleed and Kingdom Holding Company in a US$247.7 million investment in Lyft, Inc.

The transaction included a US$100 million investment in the company’s US$1 billion Series F round and the purchase of US$147 million worth of shares from three existing investors. The investment will aid Lyft’s long-term plan to develop an on-demand network of self-driving cars.

DP World signs significant licence agreement and acquires DP World Southampton

Travers Smith LLP has advised existing client, DP World (owner of The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company) on the extension of a licence agreement for DP World Southampton with Associated British Ports (“ABP”). The licence agreement for the 86 hectare terminal will last 31 years until 2047.

Simultaneously, Travers Smith advised DP World on its acquisition of the remaining 49% stake in DP World Southampton from ABP for a confidential acquisition price. 

DWF advises 1st Class Holidays on £2.5m investment from PHD Private Equity

DWF has advised 1st Class Holidays, who offer luxury tailor-made holidays in Canada, North America, New Zealand and Australia, on a £2.5m investment from PHD Private Equity.

The holiday company will now be able to accelerate its growth ambitions and the investment will also provide an exit for Finance Director and shareholder, Henri Treffers.

The Manchester-headquartered company has a turnover of £16m and employs 36 people.  It will continue to be led by Paul Ainsworth and Sharon Mason, who originally founded the business in 1996.

Orrick Advises on Womai.com’s US$220 Million Series C Financing

Orrick represented Womai.com in connection with its $220 million Series C financing from Tai Kang Asset Management, Baidu, Dragon Capital, IDG, COFCO Agricultural Industrial Equity Investment Fund and the PE arm of Sunshine Insurance.

Founded in 2009 by Chinese state-owned food conglomerate COFCO, Womai.com is a leading B2C food and beverage e-commerce platform based in Beijing.

The transaction was completed in December 2015. Upon completion of the financing, Womai.com will become the first “unicorn” in the food-e-commerce industry.

Arntzen de Besche has assisted Girteka Logistics in acquisition of shares in the logistical company Thermo-Transit

Girteka Logistics has acquired 40 per cent of the shares in the Thermo-Transit Group, a specialist in transportation of fresh fish from Norway to Europe.

Girteka Logistics is an international transport and logistic company with 7.100 employees and has one of the most modern fleet of trucks and trailer trucks in Europe. The transaction is part of a long-term strategy of increasing and strengthening the Thermo-Transit brand in the market.

Thermo-Transit has 500 employees in total and experienced revenues of NOK 850 million in 2014.
