Mills & Reeve helps IQ Capital lead a £5.3m investment round in Fluidic Analytics

We have advised IQ Capital on its investment in Fluidic Analytics, a University of Cambridge spin-out which is "revolutionising" the field of protein characterisation, as part of a £5.3m Series B fundraising.

Mills & Reeve advised IQ Capital Partners, who led the funding round, also including the Cambridge Enterprise Seed Funds, Parkwalk Advisors, Draper Esprit, Amadeus Capital Partners, and Cambridge Innovation Capital as co-investors.

Osborne Clarke advises SES-imagotag on the investment in Findbox

International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised SES-imagotag on the IP and IT-related aspects of the investment in Findbox GmbH. The funding will kick-off a partnership between the two companies to collaborate on R&D efforts, global supply chain capabilities and, ultimately, accelerate the technology start-up’s development.

SES-imagotag, a specialist in digital in-store solutions and world leader in electronic shelf labelling systems, is listed on the Euronext exchange. Over the next three years, SES-imagotag will acquire 100% of Findbox.

Hinkley Point C signing marks beginning of new era in UK nuclear and go-ahead for largest ever Chinese investment into UK

China General Nuclear Power Corporation 's ('CGN') investment into the UK's first new nuclear power station for a generation which signs today, sees the culmination of three years of work for law firm Ashurst on this ground breaking project.

Ashurst is advising CGN on its investment into Hinkley Point C, the establishment of a broader UK partnership for the development of new nuclear power stations at Sizewell in Suffolk and Bradwell in Essex and a key joint venture designed to bring Chinese nuclear technology to the UK for future projects.

KWM advises Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets on €4 billion close of fifth European infrastructure fund

King & Wood Mallesons has advised Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), a global leader in infrastructure management, on the first and final close of its latest infrastructure fund – Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 5 (MEIF5). The fund closed with €4 billion of investor commitments within eight months of its launch and was significantly oversubscribed.

Slaughter and May advised GlaxoSmithKline plc on the sale of remaining stake in Aspen Pharmacare Holdings Ltd

Slaughter and May advised GlaxoSmithKline plc (“GSK”) on the sale of its remaining 6.2% stake in Aspen Pharmacare Holdings Ltd which was announced on 28 September 2016. The disposal was effected by way of an accelerated bookbuilt offering and raised gross proceeds equivalent to £477 million.

GSK’s internal legal team was led by Antony Braithwaite and we worked as an integrated team with Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP advising on US law and Bowman Gilfillan Inc. advising on South African law.

Orrick French Tech Companies Group Advises Location-Sharing App Zenly on $22.5 Million Series B

Orrick advised location-sharing app Zenly on its $22.5 million Series B financing round. Benchmark led the round — its first investment in a French startup — with participation from other investors that included Jerry Murdock, formerly of Insight Venture Partners, Idinvest Partners and Xavier Niel. In addition to the funding, Peter Fenton of Benchmark has been added to Zenly’s board.

Schoenherr has advised the shareholders of Austrian freight wagon holding company ERR Rail Rent Vermietungs GmbH ("ERR") on the sale of 100 % of their shares in ERR as well as 33.3 % of their shareholding in the asset management company ERR European Rail Rent GmbH to Aves One AG ("Aves One"), a logistics equipment company.
