Thommessen assist Golden Ocean with the creation of the first capesize chartering company in a decade.

The new joint venture company has been established by five drybulk shipowning groups, including Bocimar International NV, C Transport Maritime, Golden Union Shipping Co S.A., Golden Ocean Group Limited and STAR BULK CARRIERS CORP.

The new company will provide the chartering services in respect of the Capesize tonnage from all parties. The resulting optimalisation is expected to reduce costs for the benefit of both cargo owners and shipowners and also reduce carbon emissions.

Capesize Chartering Ltd will commence operations in the second half of February 2015.
