Baker McKenzie advises Winkler+Dünnebier on acquisition of BICMA Hygiene Technologie

08 Feb 2018

Baker McKenzie advised Winkler+Dünnebier GmbH, a division of Barry-Wehmiller, on its acquisition of BICMA Hygiene Technologie GmbH.

The transaction closed on January 31, 2018. Winkler+Dünnebier will continue the BICMA business based in Mayen, Germany. Baker McKenzie advised Winkler+Dünnebier on all legal aspects of the transaction.

"The transaction complements our client's Hygiene Solutions business unit, which manufactures machines that produce facial tissue and hygiene products. The collaboration will drive growth for both entities in the rapidly expanding hygiene market. We are delighted that we were able to advise Winkler+Dünnebier and Barry-Wehmiller on this third acquisition within a few months," comments Corporate/M&A-Partner Gerald Schumann.

Baker McKenzie already advised Barry-Wehmiller on the acquisition of Winkler+Dünnebier in 2015.

Winkler+Dünnebier was established in 1913 and is a globally renowned market leader for integrated solutions for the mail, tissue and hygiene industry sectors. Winkler+Dünnebier operates as an independent business unit within Barry-Wehmiller’s Converting Solutions Platform, alongside Paper Converting Machine Company (PCMC).

BICMA Hygiene Technologie, based in Mayen, Germany, designs and manufactures machinery for the production of hygiene products in the personal-care sector.
