CMS Hasche Sigle advises Hill-Rom on acquisition of TRUMPF Medical

Hill-Rom, USA, has acquired the Medical unit of the TRUMPF Group, Ditzingen, for a purchase price of EUR 185 million. The transaction is awaiting approval from the competition authorities.

A team from CMS Hasche Sigle led by Dr Martin Bell, Dr Heike Wagner (joint lead partners), Till Liebau and Dr Tobias Kilian advised Hill-Rom on all legal aspects of the transaction.

TRUMPF Medizin Systeme develops and manufactures solutions and products for operation rooms and intensive care at its Saalfeld and Puchheim sites in Germany. The TRUMPF Medical unit has around 720 employees. TRUMPF Medizin Systeme has subsidiary operations in the USA, France, Austria, UK, Italy, Australia and China.

The NYSE-listed Hill-Rom Group is a global medical technology firm with more than 6,500 employees in more than 100 countries. It posted worldwide sales of USD 1.72 billion in the 2012/13 fiscal year.

The Ditzingen-based TRUMPF Group generated sales of EUR 2.34 billion with around 10,000 employees in the 2012/2013 fiscal year. It has global operations in machine tool engineering and laser technology.
