A cross-practice, multi-office Dentons team advised Fresenius Medical Care, a Germany-based global health care company, in its US$600 million acquisition of a majority of the equity interests in Sound Inpatient Physicians Inc., one of the leading providers of hospitalist physician services in the United States.

The acquisition allows Fresenius, one of the largest dialysis companies in the world, to pursue its strategy of expanding its health care service offerings.  Sound Physicians, with 1,000 physician partners in more than 100 hospitals and post-acute care centers across the US, intends to expand its clinical capabilities to additional care facilities nationwide.
