International legal business DWF has advised the London branch of Joh. Berenberg, Gossler & Co. KG in relation to SigmaRoc PLC's placing which raised £13.9m. Berenberg acted as sole broker and bookrunner to the placing.
SigmaRoc, which invests in and operates construction material assets, has also acquired Poundfield, a UK-based group of businesses that specialises in concrete products, as part of its buy-and-build growth strategy.
DWF's London-based corporate team advised on the deal, with the firm's London Head of Corporate, Matthew Doughty, leading alongside Director Justin Edgar and trainee Theo Watkins.
The business's corporate practice has seen significant investment this year, with a number of new lateral hires that have allowed DWF to diversify its offering and deepen its expertise in a range of corporate finance transactions, including capital markets and private equity.
Matthew Doughty comments: "This transaction is another example of our growing presence in the London capital markets arena. Our UK wide team has advised on a number of IPOs, secondary fundraisings and takeovers this year. We continue to go from strength to strength and we are delivering some fantastic outcomes to clients, and I look forward to seeing this momentum continue."
