Hill Dickinson advises Everton on renewal of the longest shirt sponsorship deal in the Premier League

03 Apr 2014

Hill Dickinson has acted for Everton Football Club (FC) in the renewal of its main sponsor agreement with Chang International, which will see the now well-known Chang elephant logo appear on Everton shirts for the next three years.

Led by Sue Russell and Megan Bentham in Hill Dickinson’s Liverpool corporate team, the agreement is currently the longest running shirt sponsorship deal in the Premier League. Sue Russell advised on the original agreement in 2004 as well as the subsequent renewals in 2005, 2008 and 2010.

This latest main sponsor agreement renewal follows the announcement just last month which saw Everton sign a new technical partner agreement with Umbro, which Hill Dickinson also advised on.

On the agreement, Sue Russell, commented: “Hill Dickinson’s sports team is delighted to have worked with Everton again, both on the recent Umbro deal and on Everton’s renewal of its shirt sponsorship agreement with Chang, especially as we worked on the original deal in 2004 and its subsequent renewals. This continuity, and our understanding of Everton’s relationship with Chang International, has enabled us to assist Everton with the smooth negotiation of the new legal agreement.”
