Hill Dickinson has acted for Fishawack Group as the medical communications specialist expanded its operations in America.
Knutsford-based Fishawack Group has already established a strong presence in the US market following an earlier acquisition led by Hill Dickinson’s Corporate team.
Under the terms of the new deal, Fishawack, one of the largest independent medical communications organisations, has acquired ownership of JK Associates Inc, significantly expanding Fishawack’s existing presence in the USA. JK Associates operates under the JK Medical Communications, Arbor and Endpoint Medical Communications brands, as well as 1010 Digital. With teams based in Philadelphia (PA), and Ann Arbor (MI), JK adds to the Fishawack Communications team already based in Philadelphia.
As well as advising on the two American deals, Hill Dickinson has previously assisted Fishawack Group on three other acquisitions in the UK and Switzerland and its secondary buy out in 2013 backed by investment from Growth Capital Partners.
“This latest deal underlines the Fishawack Group’s continued emphasis on achieving its growth ambitions through a positive buy and build strategy” said Craig Scott, Partner in Hill Dickinson’s Corporate team and lead adviser on the deal.
“We have worked with Fishawack for many years, providing counsel to successfully complete a number of complex cross border acquisitions that have helped Fishawack achieve its strategy of gaining critical mass in key locations close by its clients with strong UK support when needed.“
Dominic Miller, Fishawack’s Chief Financial Officer commented, “We would like to thank Craig Scott and Michael Murphy of Hill Dickinson LLP (Liverpool, UK) who provided legal oversight of all aspects of the transaction, and Malcolm Sandilands of Dickstein Shapiro (Washington DC, USA) for leading US legal support.”
