Hogan Lovells advises EDF in relation to its 100-year bond issue in pound sterling and its hybrid bond issues

29 Jan 2014

Hogan Lovells assisted EDF in relation to its 100-year bond issue in pound sterling, which enabled EDF to raise GBP 1.350 billion. This bond issue is the first ever of this maturity carried out in pound sterling.

Hogan Lovells also advised EDF in relation to its hybrid bond issues in three tranches and in two currencies for a total amount of EUR 2 billion and GBP 750 million. Thus, Hogan Lovells assists EDF in the roll-out of the second phase of its hybrid financing programme initiated last year and structured like the 2013 inaugural issue, on which Hogan Lovells already advised EDF.

The Hogan Lovells team in charge of this transaction was led by partner Sharon Lewis, global head of International Debt Capital Markets, who worked with Vincent Fidelle (Counsel) and Marouane El Idrissi.

Clifford Chance Europe LLP assisted the arranging banks, with partner Cédric Burford, who worked with Gemma Doyle and Auriane Bijon.
