King & Wood Mallesons advises GED Capital on the structuring and establishment of a €150 million fund

07 Dec 2015

King & Wood Mallesons has advised private equity firm GED Capital on the structuring and establishment of its new fund, GED V España, with a target closing of €150 million.

GED V España, the seventh of GED Capital and the fifth in the category of buyout, currently has investment commitments amounting to €80 million. The final closing of its planned €150 million fund is expected in 2016.

Isabel Rodríguez, Investment Funds partner at King & Wood Mallesons, said: "Trust is returning to the Spanish private equity market and it is becoming more attractive to investors, following the downturn in the economy. The creation of GED Capital’s new fund is a further example of the buoyancy in the market and we’re delighted to have advised our clients on their next milestone.”

GED V España has been established with the contribution of the ICO (approximately 15% of the fund) and other institutional investors.

The King & Wood Mallesons team was comprised of Investment Funds partner Isabel Rodríguez with senior associate Ildefonso Alier; alongside Tax partner Alberto Ruano and senior associate Fernando Jiménez.
