King & Wood Mallesons advises the Portuguese group Sonae on the acquisition of Losan

King & Wood Mallesons has advised the Portuguese group Sonae on the acquisition of the Spanish multinational Losan, the second largest wholesale operator in children’s fashion in Spain and currently a top 3 player in Portugal and Italy.

Losan is focused mainly on developing and commercialising children’s fashion collections while also dealing in men’s and women’s collections. It’s international business has grown significantly, particularly in Latin American countries which now representing over half of the brand’s turnover, which stood at €58.5 million in 2014.The company has more than 4,000 sales outlets across more than 40 countries.

In the first semester of 2015, Sonae, which also operates in Spain with the electronic brand Worten, got €2,329 million of global sales and a net profit of €97 million, a 84,8% more than the one registered in the same period in 2014.
