King & Wood Mallesons SJ Berwin is advising Mr. Marcel Hermann, founder and CEO of the private hospital group Médipôle Sud Santé, in relation to the acquisition of the group Médi-Partenaires, controlled by the private equity funds LBO France and Equistone.

Médipôle Sud Santé has entered into an exclusive agreement with the shareholders with a view to merge the two groups, thus creating a leader in the private hospital market.

The Médipôle Sud Santé group comprises a dozen private hospitals located in the South of France. Founded in 2006 by Marcel Hermann, the group generates about €300 million of total revenues. In 2011, Marcel Hermann sold a 50% stake in the company to the private equity fund Bridgepoint.

Médi-Partenaires is one of the largest players in the French private hospital market, generating a turnover of €550 million.

The King & Wood Mallesons SJ Berwin team was composed of Corporate partners Christophe Digoy and Pierre-Louis Sévegrand-Lions ; Tax partner Fanny Combourieu and associate Antoine Le Touzé. The firm regularly advises Médipôle Sud Santé, including on the acquisition of the Clinique Le Floride in June 2013.
