Macfarlanes has advised Aberdeen Standard Investments on its 50:50 joint venture with 21 Partners, a European investment fund founded by Alessandro Benetton. The joint venture company will be called 21 Aberdeen Standard Investments Limited (21ASI).
Aberdeen Standard Investments intends to launch a direct €1bn private equity long-term fund later this year. The fund will target non-controlling interests in European companies with a focus on supporting and facilitating growth including by helping portfolio companies manage challenges such as the potential for disruption within their industry and succession and generational changes.
The Macfarlanes team for this matter was led by investment management partner Stephen Robinson and corporate partner Jessica Adam with corporate senior solicitor Julian Grant.
