Copenhagen Airports A/S has entered into a partnership with the Scandinavian hotel operator Nordic Choice Hotels, owned by Petter A. Stordalen, on a project involving the takeover of the operation of the hotel currently operated by Hilton and the building of a new 500-room hotel alongside the existing hotel.
From 1 April 2017, Nordic Choice Hotels will take over the operation of the Hilton hotel at Copenhagen Airport and operate the hotel under its high-end brand, Clarion Hotel. The name of the hotel will be the Clarion Hotel Copenhagen Airport. At the same time the hotel will undergo an extensive upgrade of its rooms, restaurant, conference facilities and lobby.
The new hotel is scheduled to be ready for use in 2020 and will be part of the Comfort Hotel chain under the Nordic Choice Hotels. In addition to the 500 rooms, the new hotel will incorporate a 3,000 m2 meeting and conference facility.
When the new hotel is completed, the ownership to both hotels will be combined and owned jointly by Copenhagen Airports and PetterStordalen’s property company, Strawberry Fields.
