Dentons advised Spire Capital Partners, a private equity firm specializing in business services, information services, education, media and communications sector investments, in its acquisition of Accuship.com, LLC, Iron Data Solution’s Transportation Spend Management Division (Iron Data TSM). Iron Data TSM will continue to maintain its leadership management team in partnership with Spire Capital.
Iron Data TSM is headquartered in Memphis, TN and provides software-enabled transportation spend management solutions to allow for transportation optimization for global enterprises. Over 30 Fortune 500 companies are existing customers of its products. According to Spire Capital partner Sean White, this strong base of clients informs their strategy to “to invest significant resources into new product development as well as sales and marketing efforts.”
“With Spire Capital as our partner, we plan to further build out our suite of products to provide enhanced services to our existing customer base as well as new customers,” said Iron Data TSM president Jerry Rau, who will continue to lead the company.
New York Private Equity partner Paul Gajer led the Dentons team, which included Corporate partner Jane Meyer and associates Irina Fayman and Ben Spira. Employment and Labor partner Mike Maryn provided support on ERISA and benefits issues, and New York partner Tim Santoli advised on tax matters.
This latest deal marks Spire Capital’s third acquisition in its third fund, Spire III. Dentons also advised on Spire Capital’s previous acquisitions in this fund, including its recent partnership deal with Surgent Tax & Accounting and its acquisition of Telekenex, Inc.
