Field Fisher Waterhouse has strengthened its real estate team with the hire of a real estate litigation partner, Owen Talfan Davies, formerly a senior associate at Ashurst LLP. Owen will join the firm on 31st March.
Owen trained at Morgan Cole, qualifying in 2004. On qualification, he joined Fladgate Fielder. He left to join Ashurst as an associate in 2007, and was promoted to senior associate at Ashurst in 2009.
Owen specialises in commercial real estate advice and dispute resolution. He advises a wide range of real estate clients on the full spectrum of contentious property related matters arising from the acquisition, management and disposal of real estate, including contractual and development disputes.
Owen's practice encompasses all landlord and tenant disputes (including 1954 Act proceedings, dilapidations claims, breach of user, alienation and planning covenants, arrears recovery, service charge disputes, lease construction issues, L&T 1987 Act notice requirements, break disputes and lease termination/possession proceedings), together with all real property issues such as squatter and adverse possession proceedings, boundary disputes, and rights of way, rights of light and party wall disputes.
Owen also has very extensive experience of advising on insolvency issues in the real estate sector, and he frequently provides strategic advice on complex property transactions.
Field Fisher Waterhouse Managing Partner Michael Chissick said: "I am delighted Owen is joining the firm. His arrival adds considerable strength to our real estate offering and closely follows the appointments of Cecily Davies in construction and Rhodri Pazzi-Axworthy in real estate investment. Owen will be a great addition to the partnership."
