Jason Jackson and Catherine Hood of national law firm Shoosmiths in Birmingham have acted for the landlord and their advisors on the let of 130 Colmore Row in the city centre.

The landmark building, on the corner of Colmore Row and Waterloo Street, overlooking Victoria Square, was previously owned by Birmingham City Council.

It was purchased by a Chinese-led consortium, with the assistance of Birmingham property developers Court Collaboration and local lawyer James Ng, in a multi-million pound deal in February of this year.

The building is now set to be brought back to life as a destination restaurant by the award-winning Lasan group. Business partners Aktar Islam and Jabbar Khan - winners of 2010's 'F Word' TV show for best local restaurant in the UK - hope to have the new venue up and running by spring 2015.

Shoosmiths' Birmingham-based real estate team, led by partner and office head Jason Jackson and also including senior associate Catherine Hood, who works with real estate investors, developers and corporate occupiers, acted for the landlord of the building on the new letting.
