Squire Sanders has acted for Cott Corporation (NYSE:COT; TSX:BCB) in the acquisition by its UK business unit of all the subsidiary companies of Aimia Foods (Holdings) Limited. Cott is one of the world's largest producers of beverages on behalf of retailers, brand owners and distributors, with manufacturing facilities in the US, Canada, the UK and Mexico. Aimia Foods is a privately owned UK food and beverages manufacturer based at Haydock, Merseyside.
The acquisition of Aimia Foods is accelerates Cott’s diversification strategy, and will see a range of new product categories, formats and channels added to the company’s portfolio. Aimia is well known for its hot and cold beverages, its multiple foodservice relationships, and its outsourcing and contract manufacturing.
