Watson Farley & Williams  (”WFW”) has advised Tank & Rast Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH on the acquisition of a 70% stake of the catering franchise company Bobby & Fritz GmbH.

The WFW team provided extensive transactional advice particularly in relation to the negotiation of all necessary agreements including the purchase agreement.

Founded 2013 in Essen, Germany, Bobby & Fritz GmbH is a gastronomic franchise system which specialises in the sale of currywurst and French fries. The company sells its products from food trucks and trailers as well as from stationary outlets. The chain has opened 14 locations to date and intends to open further sites in petrol stations, stadiums as well as locations alongside major traffic roads.

Autobahn Tank & Rast is a leading provider of gastronomic, retail, hotel and fuel services on German motorways, operating a network of motorway service areas including 350 petrol stations, around 390 restaurants and 50 hotels. Their facilities are used by up to 500 million motorway travelers per year.
