White & Case LLP has advised international private equity group Bridgepoint, the new owner of the UK's largest independent vehicle leasing business, Zenith, on the acquisition of Contract Vehicles Holdings Limited Group (CVL) from its shareholders.
Leeds-based CVL is a highly regarded provider of commercial vehicle contract hire and fleet management solutions specialising in the HGV market, with more than 20 years of experience and responsible for managing a fleet in excess of 20,000 vehicles that are supplied to some of the world's largest companies.
White & Case advised Bridgepoint on its £750 million acquisition of Zenith in January 2017. The complementary CVL acquisition extends Zenith's reach into the adjacent HGV market and supports its ambition to build the UK's only one-stop-shop provider of HGV-to-car mobility.
White & Case has also advised Bridgepoint and Nordic Cinema Group Holding AB, the largest theatre exhibitor in Scandinavia, the Nordics and the Baltics, on the latter's US$929 million sale to AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc., the world's largest movie exhibition company.
The White & Case team in London which advised on the transaction was led by partner Ian Bagshaw and included partners Jill Concannon and Martin Forbes, counsel Peter Lewis and associates Steven Worthington, Craig Fagan, Irina Kozlova and Nicola Chapman.
