Dentons advises The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank on financing of the first port concession project in Russia

Dentons has advised The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) on extending a US$69 million loan to the Russian State Transport Leasing Company (STLC) to finance the construction of the Lavna Coal Transshipment Terminal at the Murmansk sea port. The loan agreement was signed by BSTDB President Dmitry Pankin and STLC Director General Sergey Khramagin in the presence of Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi.

The BSTDB loan is the Bank's largest investment in Russian infrastructure development to date.

Clifford Chance advises Solarpack on financing the La Granja solar project in Chile

Clifford Chance has advised Solarpack Corporacion Tecnologica, S.A. (Solarpack) on arranging the financing for the development, construction and operation of a (photovoltaic) solar farm in the Atacama Desert in Chile. The total investment value for the "La Granja" project is around USD 114 million. KfW IPEX-Bank, which specialises in international project and export financing, provided most of the amount required in the form of a long-term loan facility.

Dentons advises HB Reavis on Varso Place financing

Dentons' Banking and Finance team in Warsaw advised HB Reavis on the EU350 million financing granted to its three subsidiaries by a multinational syndicate of banks (Santander Bank Polska, Helaba, Bank Pekao and Unicredit) for the construction of Varso Place, HB Reavis' flagship development in Warsaw. This is the largest construction loan in the history of the Polish real estate market.

Norton Rose Fulbright advises on financing of 81MW Hedet Wind Power Project in Finland

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised KFW IPEX Bank GmbH and Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (PUBL) on the financing of the Hedet wind power project, which has been developed by Neoen and Prokon Finland. The financing was signed on December 19, 2018.

Hedet wind farm is based in Finland, and the output of the farm will be sold to Google under a corporate PPA. The wind farm will generate 81MW of electricity, with Nordex acting as turbine supplier and EPC contractor.

King & Wood Mallesons advises Villar Mir Energia Group on the financing of two wind farms

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) have advised Villar Mir Energia, part of the Group Villar Mir, in the financing of the construction of three wind farms (Sotillo and Tablares), located in Zaragoza and together with the wind farm Valiente, also developed by Villar Mir Energia, they will share a total approximate power of 47 MW. This project has been developed under the model "turnkey" with Siemens Gamesa as the suppliers of the wind turbines.

Baker McKenzie Cairo's Banking and Finance team advised a six-bank consortium led by National Bank of Egypt on a US$ 100 million and EGP 1.2 million multicurrency bridge facility to Canal Sugar Company.

The consortium comprised of National Bank of Egypt, Qatar National Bank Al Ahli, Bank of Alexandria, The United Bank, Industrial Development Bank and Suez Canal Bank.

LBBW issues blockchain-based asset-backed securities

Jones Day advised Landesbank Baden-Wurttemberg (LBBW), a universal bank and the central bank of the savings banks in Baden-Württemberg, Saxony, and Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany, on its pilot project regarding the blockchain-based issuance and redemption of asset-backed commercial paper (ABCP). The securities were issued by Weinberg Capital DAC as issuer vehicle under the securitization program sponsored by LBBW. Moody's and Fitch, appointed rating agencies for the program, accompanied the project and confirmed the rating of the program.
