Weil Advises Providence Strategic Growth in its Investment in Skybox Security

Weil recently advised Providence Strategic Growth (PSG) in its investment in Skybox Security, Inc., a developer of security software used by enterprises and government agencies for vulnerability management, threat intelligence management and security policy management.

Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Skybox develops powerful software solutions that extract insight from cybersecurity data to give visibility of an organization’s attack surface.

Goldman Sachs, Wellcome Trust, and Greystar launch £2 billion (US$2.8 billion) student housing company

Jones Day advised the REPIA division of Goldman Sachs International in connection with the formation of the £2 billion (US$2.8 billion) student housing business to be known as the Vero Group. The joint venture involved the combination of the £560 million (US$799 million) iQ student housing portfolio owned by The Wellcome Trust with the existing student housing platform owned by Goldman Sachs and Greystar Real Estate Partners.

White & Case Advises Mid Europa on China CEE Co-Operation Fund Investment in Energy 21

White & Case LLP has advised Mid Europa Partners (MEP) on reaching an agreement with CEE Equity Partners resulting in an investment by the China CEE Investment Co-operation Fund in Energy 21.

MEP is a leading private equity investor focused on the growth markets of Central and Eastern Europe and Turkey, with approximately €4.3 billion of funds raised and managed since inception. Energy 21 is the largest Czech-based independent operator of photovoltaic power plants in Central and Eastern Europe, with an installed generation capacity of 61 megawatts peak.

King & Wood Mallesons advises Equistone Partners Europe on its investment in MECAPLAST Group

King & Wood Mallesons advised Equistone Partners Europe on its investment in MECAPLAST Group (through its Fund V), alongside Thierry Manni, a current major shareholder of the Group and Chairman of the Board; Bpifrance (via the FAA) and MECAPLAST Group’s Management team. The transaction is subject to approval by the European, Chinese, Serbian and Turkish competition authorities.

McCann FitzGerald advises Bord na Móna on investment in Roscommon Windfarm

Bord na Móna and Coillte have agreed terms on a 50/50 joint venture to develop a 64MW windfarm, with a total investment of €90million, at Sliabh Bawn, Co Roscommon. The 20 turbine windfarm is expected to become operational in early 2017 and will supply renewable energy to 40,000 homes. McCann FitzGerald has advised Bord na Móna in respect of its investment in the project.

Fieldfisher advises Venture Capital Fund Earlybird on its investment in SimScale GmbH

Fieldfisher has advised Earlybird,  a venture capital fund, on a Series A financing round of SimScale GmbH ("SimScale"). SimScale is developing and offering cloud solutions for engineering simulation software. During the Series A financing the New York based venture fund Union Square Ventures ("USV") invested as a new investor in SimScale.

Kirkland Represented ORG Packaging Co. Ltd in Acquisition of Interest in CPMC Holdings Limited

Kirkland & Ellis represented ORG Packaging Co. Ltd (SHE: 002701) in its acquisition of a 27 percent interest in CPMC Holdings Limited (HKSE:906) from COFCO Corporation for a total consideration of approximately HK$1.6 billion (approximately US$205 million).
