Setterwalls advisor in connection with investment in OssDsign AB

SEB Venture Capital, Fouriertransform and Karolinska Development have invested approximately 93 million SEK in OssDsign. The proceeds will be used for the international expansion of OssDsign’s product line of unique craniofacial implants based on innovative material technology with excellent biological and biomechanical properties.

Settewalls has been advisor in connection with the investment. The team was led by Mattias Detterfelt primarily assisted by Anders Grefberg, Sophia Spala and Tobias Öd.

Pinsent Masons advises PEAK6 Investments on their investment in AFC Bournemouth

Pinsent Masons has advised Chicago-based PEAK6 Investments, L.P. on their investment into and acquisition of a 25% equity interest in English Premier League football club AFC Bournemouth.

PEAK6’s Co-founder and CEO, Matt Hulsizer, lead the investment for PEAK6 with in-house attorney Jay Coppoletta co-ordinating the transaction internally.

Umbra is a Finnish 3D graphics software company that has been powering up graphics performance in more than 100 video games during the last 10 years. Clients include internationally renowned game studios that have produced commercially successful AAA products such as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Batman Arkham Knight, Quantum Break, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Destiny.

Bitbar is a Finnish technology and service company focused on providing high-performance mobile software development and testing solutions for mobile app and game developers. The company’s flagship product – Testdroid – has been used to make many of the most popular mobile apps and games reliable.

KWM advises Bindaree Beef on significant Chinese investment

A cross-border King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) team has advised Australian producer, Bindaree Beef on the sale and issue of a combined 45 percent stake in the company to one of China’s largest meat processors, Shandong Delisi Food Co.

The high profile Chinese investment is one of the first in the agribusiness sector since the signing of the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement. The deal serves as a strong example of the opportunities presented to Chinese and Australian agribusiness sectors as tariffs are reduced across a range of products including beef.

Freshfields advises Siemens Financial Services on the acquisition of a stake in the £1.5 bn Galloper wind farm

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised Siemens Financial Services (SFS) on its acquisition of a 25% stake in the Galloper offshore wind farm, which is to be built off the coast of Suffolk.
The project is now owned in equal shares by the joint equity partners RWE Innogy, Siemens Financial Services, Macquarie and the Green Investment Bank, having previously been jointly developed by RWE Innogy and SSE. Financial Close was achieved on Thursday 29 October.

White & Case Advises Naspers on US$1.2 Billion Avito Investment

White & Case LLP has advised Naspers Limited, the South African-based global internet and media company, on its US$1.2 billion investment to become the largest shareholder in Avito, the leading online classifieds platform in Russia.

Naspers is buying shares from existing shareholders to increase its stake in the Swedish holding company Avito AB from 17.4 percent to 67.9 percent on a fully diluted basis.

Tsinghua Unigroup to Acquire 25% Interest in Powertech Technology

Simpson Thacher is representing an affiliate of Tsinghua University in connection with the acquisition of a 25% interest in Powertech Technology Inc. (“Powertech Technology”) at approximately US$600 million. Powertech Technology is a leading global outsourced assembly and test services provider based in Taiwan. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals in both China and Taiwan and certain customary closing conditions.

The Simpson Thacher team for this transaction includes Chris Lin, Jin Park and Heather Tsai (Corporate).

Knip AG Closes Largest Fintech Investment Round in Switzerland

Knip AG, Zurich, recently closed Switzerland's largest fintech financing round for a start-up so far with CHF 15 million. The series B round was led by Route 66 Ventures, which was joined by Creathor Venture and QED Investors (respectively funds managed by these venture capital firms) as series B investors, adding to the existing series A investors such as Orange Growth Capital and Redalpine. Knip AG is a mobile-first digital insurance broker enabling its users through an app to easily view and manage their insurance policies on their smartphone.
