Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised the bank syndicate including the European Investment Bank (EIB), AUXIFIP, Banca IMI (Intesa Sanpaolo Group), Caisse Regionale de Credit Agricole Alsace Vosges, CaixaBank, Ceskoslovenska obchodni banka and KBC Bank, as well as CA-CIB as agent, on the EU186 million financing for the Strasbourg western bypass motorway (A355) concession to be built and operated by ARCOS (Vinci Group).

Vedanta Acquires Electrosteel in Indian Insolvency Resolution Process

Davis Polk is advising Lazard & Co., Limited as sponsor to Vedanta Resources plc on the acquisition by its Indian listed subsidiary, Vedanta Limited, of Electrosteel  Steels Limited pursuant to a corporate insolvency resolution process implemented by way of the Indian Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code 2016. The State Bank of India initiated insolvency proceedings against a number of Indian companies including Electrosteel in a bankruptcy court in June 2017.

Baker McKenzie acts on L1 Investment Fund float

Baker McKenzie acted as legal adviser to National Australia Bank Limited (NAB) in its role as sole arranger and as legal adviser to the syndicate of Joint Lead Managers (which included Crestone Wealth Management, Morgan Stanley, Morgans Financial, Wilsons Corporate Finance, Ord Minnett and Taylor Collison) on the floatation of the L1 Long Short Fund as a listed investment company on the ASX.

The Fund successfully raised A$1.35 billion, making it one of the largest ever investment fund flotations in Australia.

Baker McKenzie advised National Australia Bank Limited (NAB) as sole lead manager and as initial subscriber on the issue of A$50,000,000, 7.25% fixed rate unsecured notes, due 2022, by Afterpay, the ASX-listed retail technology company. Afterpay is a technology driven payments company comprising of Afterpay and Touch products and businesses, with currently approximately 1.8 million customers and over 14,000 retail merchants using Afterpay products.

Travers Smith advises HSBC on Epiris' acquisition of De La Rue's paper business

Travers Smith LLP has advised HSBC Bank plc on Epiris' acquisition from De La Rue plc its paper business, including the paper mills at Overton and Bathford.

The business, now named Portals De La Rue Limited, is one of the world's leading manufacturers of paper used in the production of banknotes and security documents (such as passports, vehicle registration documents and birth and marriage certificates).
