King & Wood Mallesons advises GED Capital on the structuring and establishment of a €150 million fund

King & Wood Mallesons has advised private equity firm GED Capital on the structuring and establishment of its new fund, GED V España, with a target closing of €150 million.

GED V España, the seventh of GED Capital and the fifth in the category of buyout, currently has investment commitments amounting to €80 million. The final closing of its planned €150 million fund is expected in 2016.

Schoenherr advises Rapid and CONDA on "Rapid InvesTOR" crowdinvesting project

Schoenherr advised the leading Austrian football club SK Rapid Wien ("Rapid") and the crowdinvesting platform CONDA on their crowdinvesting project "Rapid InvesTOR". The project, through which Rapid fans and other investors can participate in the financing of the football club's new "Allianz" stadium in Vienna, is the first crowdinvesting project with a simplified prospectus compiled according to Scheme F of the Austrian Capital Market Act ("KMG"). With an issue volume of up to EUR 3 million, Rapid InvesTOR is also the largest crowdfunding project to have been launched in Austria to date.

Osborne Clarke advises test IO on financing from Turn/River Capital

Osborne Clarke has advised test IO on the closing of its Series A financing round. The Berlin-based start-up, formerly known as Testcloud GmbH, has raised $5 million Series from Turn/River Capital. The leading self-service crowdtesting platform for app and web developers was founded in 2011.

The new capital will be used to accelerate growth, including its U.S. market launch and company-wide rebrand. Business Angels had already invested in the platform in 2012, which was followed by a further financing round in 2013.

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) advised ODEWALD KMU on the closing of its oversubscribed second Fund, raising more than €200 million in commitments. The fundraising was completed within only seven months.

As with ODEWALD KMU`s predecessor fund ODEWALD KMU I, ODEWALD KMU II`s investment focus is on small- and medium-sized companies, well known as the “German Mittelstand”. ODEWALD KMU II concentrates on investments primarily in German Engineering, Intelligent Service Solutions and Healthcare Businesses.

Matheson advises Abtran in relation to the investment by Carlyle Cardinal Ireland

Matheson advised Abtran, one of Ireland’s largest providers of customer and business process management services, on the investment in Abtran by Carlyle Cardinal Ireland, the private equity fund.
 
The transaction, which was announced on 23 November 2015, is one of the largest investments by Carlyle Cardinal Ireland in an Irish company to date. Abtran’s existing management team  will continue in their leadership roles and are investing further as shareholders in the business.

Recently listed online lender, ZipMoney has received a major capital injection from U.S. asset manager, Victory Park Capital (VPC), involving a debt component valued at A$100 million as well as an equity investment.

VPC's debt investment has been made through its subscription for senior securitisation notes issued by the ZipMoney Trust 2015-1. This is ZipMoney's first securitisation and the securitisation notes are backed by a portfolio of line of credit receivables.
