Houthoff Buruma advised JAC Capital, a subsidiary of Chinese state-owned investment company JIC, and Wise Road Capital, as lead counsel on the $ 2.75 billion acquisition of the Standard Products business from NXP Semiconductors, one of the semiconductor market leaders worldwide. The transaction is waiting for approval from amongst others of the European Commission, Federal Trade Commission (US), CFIUS and the Chinese Ministry of Trade.

Funds advised by the Munich-based Private Equity firm EMERAM Capital Partners GmbH invested jointly with the management team in Swiss-based Xovis AG to further support Xovis’ growth strategy.

Xovis manufactures and develops tracking sensors and measurement tools as well as analysis software. Xovis provides the airport industry’s leading system for passenger tracking, flow measurement and analysis and is also serving retail and industry customers.

King & Wood Mallesons has advised Dutch listed TKH Group N.V. (TKH) on its acquisition of HELLA’s Airport Lighting business from Hella KGaA Hueck & Co. The transaction was completed on 29 July 2016.

The sale of the HELLA Airport Lighting business also includes the sale of the Danish company HELLA Induperm. HELLA Induperm specialises in the equipment of airfield navigation light components, whose clients have included regional and international airports.

International law firm Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) has advised a group of German investors, led by Nordwind Capital GmbH (“Nordwind”) and Dr Hans Albrecht, on their participation in Iranian start-up ChapAgha.com. WFW advised Nordwind and its fellow investors on the drafting and signing of the participation agreement, as well as on the implementation of the participation and capital increase in Iran.

On 1 August 2016, STIHL became a shareholder in the Globe Tools Group. Globe Tools is a Chinese manufacturer of corded and cordless garden tools. As lead counsel, Gleiss Lutz advised STIHL extensively on its investment in China and led a team of law firms in seven foreign jurisdictions.

As reported by Reuters and other media outlets, an investor consortium including Paul, Weiss client Tencent Holdings Ltd., a leading provider of comprehensive internet services in China, agreed to invest $550 million in cash in Yixin Capital Ltd. The consortium also includes Bitauto Holdings Ltd., a China-based internet content and marketing provider for the automotive industry; Baidu Inc., a China-based language search provider; JD.com Inc., a China-based online shopping services company; and other minority investors.

DLA Piper has advised Mobile Ventures GmbH on the bridge financing round for PipesBox GmbH. This is the third round of financing for PipesBox after Mobile Ventures successfully provided the company  with equity capital in 2014 and 2015, supported by DLA Piper on both occasions. Technologiefonds MV GmbH acted as a co-investor, alongside business angels.
